Here are some things that can be done to minimise burnout:

  1. Stop feeling guilty. Don’t try to be perfect and stop worrying about others.

  2. Learn to say no. This is probably the most sensible thing you can do. You cannot change the world. Learn to go for a walk or practise relaxation techniques.

  3. Watch your diet. Make sure you have a good breakfast and well-balanced meals.

  4. Be your friend. Make sure you know that you are someone important and that there are people who love you.

  5. Exercise. The chemicals produced through exercise will do wonders.

  6. Manage time. Plan your time so you are not always in a rush.

  7. Not your problem. See it as their problem not yours.

  8. Learn to laugh. They say that laughing relaxes the muscles so why not try it. And do you know something, the Bible is not wrong when it says that “a merry heart doeth good like a medicine”.
