Checklist on How to call a Non Paying Customer



  • Make sure you talk to a person in authority who can settle the matter with you.

  • State clearly who you are and why you are calling.

  • Introduce yourself, especially if you are talking to a senior person.

  • Ask if there is any reason why payment has not been made.

  • If they can’t make payment, ask why.

  • If they have a problem, provide a solution.

  • Provide them with a second solution if the first solution is not possible.

  • If a second solution is not acceptable, ask the customer what you can do.

  • Let them know if payment is not effected within seven days it will be passed over to debt collectors.
