Here are some of the questions that you need to ask yourself in order to gain a clear picture of what you are looking for in a new staff member.
Attitude
- Can they compete without irritation?
- Can they bounce back easily?
- What are their priorities?
- Will they be loyal?
- Do they take pride in their work?
- Are they cooperative?
Motivation
- Will they be settled in their work?
- Do they need self-improvement?
- Would they work well in the face of opposition?
- Are they self-motivated?
Initiative
- Are they a self-starter?
- Do they follow instructions without continual inquiry?
- Will they complete their own tasks fully?
- Can they be assigned work and left to it?
- Are they independent?
Stability
- Are they impatient?
- Are they excitable?
- Are they even tempered?
- Will the candidate have poise?
- Is the candidate erratic?
- Will the candidate respond under pressure?
- Will they be enthusiastic about the job?
Planning
- Will they be able to coordinate work?
- Do they have the ability to plan?
- Will they attend to details?
- Can they see the big picture quickly?
Insight
- Do they have a desire for self-improvement?
- Are they interested in problems of others?
- Are they able to take criticism?
Social Skills
- Do they make friends easily?
- Do they get along with people?
- Are they a leader or follower?
- Do they mix with others?
