Here are some of the questions that you need to ask yourself in order to gain a clear picture of what you are looking for in a new staff member.

Attitude

  • Can they compete without irritation?
  • Can they bounce back easily?
  • What are their priorities?
  • Will they be loyal?
  • Do they take pride in their work?
  • Are they cooperative?

Motivation

  • Will they be settled in their work?
  • Do they need self-improvement?
  • Would they work well in the face of opposition?
  • Are they self-motivated?

Initiative

  • Are they a self-starter?
  • Do they follow instructions without continual inquiry?
  • Will they complete their own tasks fully?
  • Can they be assigned work and left to it?
  • Are they independent?

Stability

  • Are they impatient?
  • Are they excitable?
  • Are they even tempered?
  • Will the candidate have poise?
  • Is the candidate erratic?
  • Will the candidate respond under pressure?
  • Will they be enthusiastic about the job?

Planning

  • Will they be able to coordinate work?
  • Do they have the ability to plan?
  • Will they attend to details?
  • Can they see the big picture quickly?

Insight

  • Do they have a desire for self-improvement?
  • Are they interested in problems of others?
  • Are they able to take criticism?

Social Skills

  • Do they make friends easily?
  • Do they get along with people?
  • Are they a leader or follower?
  • Do they mix with others?
