How Do you - Use Advertising Time Profitably on TV

Most TV spots are sold in units of 10,20,30,60 and 90 second slots. The cost will vary according to the time zone that you wish your ad to be broadcast in and the programs that are screening at that particular time. The whole cost thing relates back to the number of eyes that are glued to the TV for that program at that time who will see your ad.

Always work with the TV station or ad agency to make sure that you are able to book the spots that you want. This is important if you are planning for a promotion to run along with a particular event (e.g Anzac Day etc) Planning will ensure problems are avoided.

Your advisers will be able to recommend the type of ads you should be looking at and the time slots you should buy to take into account your budget.

Television should use the language of your target audience as much as possible so that your products are relevant. Your ad should as much as possible work in combination with other media such as advertising in the newspapers, brochures etc. Make sure your ad is not crowded, so keep it simple with few words and facts. However, aim to produce something that will be retained in the mind of the viewer.
