What is a Strategic Plan?
A strategic plan is a plan that works out what your business is going to be doing over the next year or so and how your business is going to get there. Strategic planning is a method of identifying the goals of your business and then working out how those goals are going to be fulfilled.
It basically will involve the following:
- Working out what your current business environment is.
- Working out what your business purpose and mission is.
- Deciding what your goal will be over the next few years.
- Assessing your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT analysis).
- Mapping out a sound course, which your business can take, to arrive at the desired position in the future.
